Loano offers tourists its glorious past. The centre is the "Palazzo Comunale", built in 1500 by Doria. Inside a III Century Roman mosaic floor.
In front of the Palazzo you can admire the Church of St. Giovanni Battista: dodecagonal plan, four chapels per side and apse chorus.
Middle Age tracks in the Castle too, built by Andrea Doria between XVI and XVII Centuries.
The civic centre is rich of history and great buildings, often decorated with frescos and friezes; several shops with typical and regional products. But there is a lot to discover. And don't forget the wonderful promenade of Madonna of Loreto, bordered by palms and Mediterranean nature. The promenade takes its name from the church.
